In a world where we’re constantly connected through technology, it’s easy to forget that we’re also connected energetically. What if your heart’s innate power could reach out and comfort someone in need, soothing their physical or emotional pain, no matter the distance? Distance healing is a powerful practice to activate the heart chakra, rooted in our energetic connection with one another.

Join Nicky Sutton, a renowned meditation guide on Insight Timer, as she leads you through this transformative meditation. This practice is a powerful reminder that love and healing know no bounds.

Inspiration behind the distance healing meditation

Nicky Sutton’s journey into meditation began with a spiritual awakening that led her to profound realizations about the nature of reality and self. Nicky explains, “I discovered the healing and restorative powers of meditation, and it became a vital tool in my self-development journey.”

Her training in hypnotherapy, combined with her own experiences, inspired her to create guided meditations that help others achieve personal growth and healing. This particular meditation was born from a desire to help people bridge the gap between physical distance and energetic connection. Nicky shares:

“Many loved ones want to help and support each other, but they are separated by long distances. I created this distance healing meditation to give everyone the opportunity to perform energy healing themselves for their loved ones, no matter the distance between them.”

A 17-minute guided meditation to send healing energy across any distance

This 17-minute guided meditation by Nicky Sutton focuses on connecting with someone you care about and sending them powerful healing energy, even if they are miles away. Follow these steps as we walk through each part of Nicky Sutton’s distance healing meditation.

Step 1: Relaxation and preparation

Begin by lying down in a comfortable position. Dim the lights and ensure you will not be disturbed for the next 17 minutes. Close your eyes and focus on your breath. Take a deep breath in, allowing your body to fill with relaxation, and then exhale, releasing any tension or distractions. Repeat this breathing process to center yourself fully in the moment.

Step 2: Activating the heart chakra

Focus on your heart chakra located at the center of your chest. Sense a gentle warming feeling and visualize your heart center glowing with greenish, reddish light. This energy is the source of your healing power. As Nicky describes,

“The heart chakra is an infinite source of loving, healing energy, and it’s found within every one of us.”

As the energy flows through your chest, shoulders, and head, feel your entire body relaxing and releasing tension. Visualize this healing energy flowing down your arms, into your legs, and throughout your entire body. You are now fully relaxed, immersed in high vibrational energy, and ready to begin the healing process.

Step 3: Connecting with the person you wish to heal

Bring to mind the person you would like to heal. There is no need to know exactly where they are at this moment—simply trust that your intention will guide you. As you focus on this person, Nicky guides you to send your awareness to their location. Imagine standing opposite them, even though you may be invisible to them. Nicky emphasizes, “Distance holds no sway over the power of your consciousness.”

Step 4: Directing healing energy

Now that you’re with them, activate your heart center once more, visualizing it glowing even brighter. Raise your arm and prepare to direct healing energy through your palm. You can either direct the energy toward their heart chakra to boost their overall vitality or focus it on a specific area of the body that needs healing. Nicky notes that intuition plays a vital role here:

“It’s the sensing and knowing of where you are in the process. Your intuition guides you in directing the healing energies to the recipient.”

As the healing energy flows from your heart, through your arm, and into their body, visualize it radiating love, light, and positive energy. Feel your connection to them deepen as your healing energy enhances their vitality, immune system, and ability to heal.

Step 5: Completing the healing process

Once you feel the healing energy has reached them fully, allow your heart center to return to normal brightness and gently lower your arm. As you observe the person, notice any changes in their appearance or energy field. Take a moment to appreciate your efforts and send them love and well wishes.

Nicky shares a valuable insight here:

“In using the heart center to send healing energy to a loved one, you’re also cleansing and clearing your own heart chakra energies and encouraging its use.”

Step 6: Returning to yourself

Nicky will guide you back into your physical body with a count-up from one to ten. As you return, feel calm, grounded, and aware of the wonderful healing work you’ve just completed. Take a deep breath in, and open your eyes when ready, knowing you’ve made a profound impact on someone’s well-being.

Tips for beginners from Nicky Sutton

For those who may struggle with visualization during this meditation, Nicky offers reassuring advice:

“The ability to visualize varies for everyone… Through practice, visualization can become more vivid and clear.”

She also encourages beginners not to put pressure on themselves and instead to use their feelings and intuition if visualization doesn’t come easily. Trusting in your intuitive sense of “just knowing” can be effective.

Take a moment to reflect

After completing this meditation, it’s important to take some time to reflect on your experience. Here are a few questions to guide your reflection:

  • How did you feel while connecting with the person you intended to heal?
  • Were there any moments when you felt a particularly strong flow of energy or emotion?
  • How did your own body and energy feel after sending the healing energy?
  • What insights or thoughts came to you during or after the meditation that might deepen your practice in the future?

Journaling about your experience can help you solidify these insights and track your progress over time. By reflecting on these moments, you can further refine your energy healing practice and enhance your connection to those you wish to help.
